I bought a used laptop Dell B130 for parts . It was said to have had a bad mobo and after paying $50.00 for it I discovered that the power jack on the back of the laptop was broken so I ordered a repair kit and resoldered a new one on. After reformating everything is fine . My question is can I upgrade the cpu on it for something better? Here are the specs that I got from Dell.

That's quite a nice deal!

The questions would be is if that CPU is removable (many today are), what else the hardware/bios would support, and how the laptop can manage heat (smaller heatsink for the Celeron?)

Chances are you could upgrade it... Look around and see what other models like that laptop have. But just realize not everything will work. I recall people discussing upgrading my Averatec to a Turion. Hardware wise (socket and chipset) it could handle it. There was even another brand of the laptop (same guts, different name) that was offered with the Turion. However, they were never able to make the Averatec fully POST with the Turion.
