Laptop restrictions

I've recently got a new laptop supplied by school, but the only issue is that they're majorly restricted. Below is a list of what has been restricted on the computer.
- USB ports have been disabled by the administrator
- CD/DVD drive has been disabled by administrator
- Internet sites have been majorly blocked- only sites that the school wants can be accessed.
- the control panel options can't be changed, again they've been blocked by the administrator
This is only part of many problems with the computer, so if anyone knows how to fix it, then their help would be much appreciated. All that has been disabled requires an administrators password btw. I also want to be log on from my home computer to the schools server- does anyone know how to get an IP address and set up a link?

We cannot help you break school rules for "hacking" their laptop, and I greatly recommend that you don't attempt to try and circumvent the rules. If they set it up like that then they don't want anyone "fiddling" with their laptops. Remember it's the school's property they are allowing you to use, it isn't yours to alter. If you wish to do different things with the laptop then talk with the IT and/or computer department about what you would like/prefer. They may be completely willing to help you out, if they wont or can't then just live with it. Buy your own laptop.

As for the remote access to the school from home, many schools enable remote desktop connection to a student profile. Just ask the IT and/or computer department if they have this (or something similar) available for students, and if they do they can probably tell you how to set it up. I used remote desktop during my time at university, and it can be a lifesaver!
