Laptop screen can not stay upright

My friend purchased a laptop for his kid for $20. A good spec toshiba laptop but the problem is that it is difficult for the screen to stay upright. It just falls down.
I have seen that there are no screws connecting the screen to the hinges.
Any suggestions....

Most toshiba's have their screws holding the hinges in place under the plastic. You probably will have to disassble the laptop a fair bit to get to them. But, even so, I suspect something's actually broken. Unless it simply wobbles some (like some Dell's) usually the hinges are either shot or metal has actually broken.

I will have a go at disassembling maybe by referring to an online manual for this laptop. thanks anyways.....

Toshiba's are too bad... Most all have a bar just above the keyboard that must be removed (sometimes this his held down by screws under the battery). Get that off, pull the keyboard off but be careful of any ribbon cables. Once it's gone, there are usually 2-4 screws holding the cover down from the top. Get them out then start getting them from the bottom.

There are disassmbly guides here and there, but most laptops are pretty similar.
