Laptop screen freezing

I need help,
I have a laptop that I use 4 years for now and there is a problem, sometimes it runs clean and smooth new tabs, windows and etc. But sometimes it slows down when I open folders, I wanna know what problem is because I want to by another ram memory and update it but if it does not increase performance then I don't want to waste money.
My laptop is:
-Acer Aspire E1-572
-4.00 GB RAM
-Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
-Intel inside CORE i3 processor
I also played games on a laptop but I haven't played them recently, I played Fallout 3 like seven months ago, I played Portal 1 and 2 like fie months ago, video settings were on medium, maybe little lower, Like three months ago I played War Thunder on minimum settings with small lag, I also played Team Fortress 2 like two years ago and I remember sometimes it freezes the screen and nonstop repeats like two seconds of game sound.
I know my laptop is not very good for games
but what worries me is that when I played Minecraft half a year ago even before it happened to lag quite a bit and only to reduce the lag working by turning off all particles, I think Minecraft is a quite lite game and I don't know what is problem.
Maybe is java version for this but for folders and tabs I don't know7

This programs I daily have in background, I often turn off and close steam and gijani updater, this 27 icon is Hard Disk Sentinel
Does anyone have a solution? I am interested in all your opinions.
Thanks in advance!

Also, I have a problem with sleep option when I put my laptop to sleep after the screen won't turn on, but the laptop still works, so I turned off sleep in power options.

I suggest adding ram and an SSD to increase performance. It only has a dual core cpu at 1.6ghz which in today's standards is quite slow. If you have installed an antivirus program then it will take up most of your resources for it. As far as the screen issue with sleep mode goes, try updating the video driver. If that don't solve it don't use sleep mode as their are a bunch of driver issues related to it.

I also checked some online test, it shows that graphic is bad:Screenshot_1.jpg
What SSD I should use? is there an external option which is going to make usable this HDD I already have or I need to replace hard disk?
And will 8 gb ram be solid and good?

You won't be gaming very well on that machine. It's an entry level pc meant for basic internet browsing and email, nothing else. If you want to game get a better machine like a desktop with a dedicated video card. You'll need to replace the hdd with an SSD. Max memory for that machine is 8gb.
