Laptop Screen

I had a old laptop computer which was broken, so I took it apart and sold its hard drive and memory. I kept the screen, it connected to the motherboard buy a little cable so I unplugged the monitor and now it is unattached from the base. Here is a pic from the internet on what it looks like(see the insert: the little white connector):

I was wondering if there is a way to connect this connector to a standard monitor connection so that I can use my laptop screen for the computer I will build for college this winter! Thanks a bunch!

I could be wrong but that looks more like a power connector rather than something that would feed it video signals.

Well it doesnt't look exactly like that, it has about 20 or so wires wrapped in a bundle that end in a little white connector like in the picture above.

I think it is possible but very difficult as you would need to get the right wires onto the right pins on the connector, I shouldn't think there are to many people that know how to do that. I certainly don't. I'm also not entirely certain that it is possible.
