I just bought a ThinkPad R31. It has 32MB of video ram but its shared with the system ram. Pros/Cons to this? I thought that, for a laptop and for the price, 32mb was pretty descent, what do guys think? will it run most games? also laptop video memory isnt upgradeable is it? thanx

you may be able to expand how much RAM is shared in the BIOS but I wouldn't expect much performance for games from it.

Reboot the computer, at the startup screen you press the correct key to enter the BIOS, usually the DEL, ESC, F2 or F10 key. Once in BIOS find the VGA shared memory size setting (if you've got one), set the desired amount and then save on exit. The computer will reboot.

Nothing I recommend though as it won't do much good for your gaming anyway, as Cromewell stated.

enter the BIOS (usually delete or one of the F# keys right when you turn it on) and look under the menus for video stuff.
