should i get a laptop with 3gb of RAM and a 2.0 ghz core 2 duo

or

4gb of RAM with a 1.83 ghz core 2 duo

both have 256mb dedacated graphics cards, not sure which is the best way round have it.

Ram is a lot easier to upgrade later than a processor is, but I would agree with cohen. We could use some links so we can give you a more informed opinion.

What's the OS? If it's Vista Home Basic or any other 32-bit operating system, they can only really use 3.3GB of memory. If that's the case I'd take the first option with the higher processor speed.
