Laptop Start Up Problem UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Well, I turn my laptop on...then it pulls up this screen with boot options (safe mode, normally, blah blah) and i have clicked all of them, but each time i do, it pulls up with a blue screen and then the computer restarts and does this over and over and over. The blue screen that flashes says something like...UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and a bunch of text....I have absolutely no idea how to fix this, or what to do...It also says to disable any new hardware to help fix the problem, but how do i do that if i cant get to the startup menu to uninstall whatever might be causing it.

I shouldn't think thats a problem with any software on your computer, unless you have recently changed/updated the BIOS or boot information. Assuming you are running Windows, it looks like your boot section of the HDD is corrupted (not sure what to suggest here), or your HDD is broken (in which case, a new one will be required). If you have updated your BIOS, that could be the problem. Check with someone else before getting a new disk, because I'm not sure what you can do to fix a broken boot sector (if thats what it is).

try unplugging eveything connected to your laptop
ie: external HDD, any peripherals, even eject any cd's left inside the cd drive

then try rebooting and see if it gives u the same error...
if it does, your windows c: drive is unmountable and is probably a lost cause :(
