Laptop to stereo music?

I would like to play music that's on my laptop on my home stereo system, preferably without a wired connection. I also would like to do this cost effectively. I know that it is possible to play ipod music on a car radio with a simple transmitting devise that plugs into ipod and is picked up by the car's radio. Is there anything like this for a laptop or something that will accomplish what I am looking to do. Thanks in advance for any help

The same type device for mp3 players also works for a computer. The device plugs into the Headphone jack on the computer, and broadcasts the music to one of the unused frequencies on the FM Band of the stereo tuner.

The one I have has to be pretty close to the FM tuner though, and a wired connection does provide better sound.
