laptop to television

i have a dell laptop and i want to connect it to my new tv. i dont know how to do this. is there a cable that i can buy?

Check if you're laptop has an S-Video connection. If it does, you can get a cable (if your computer didnt provide you one) and try to hookup to your TV. There are also S-Video to RCA cables that can hok up to your TV. If your TV is not high def, it may not be wise to hook up because the resolution may not be up to par.

Some laptops like mines(Compaq Armada e500) has a video out port. It supports PAL, NTSC video formats. If your laptop has one of these, simply buy a RCA cable and connect it to your tv's video in, and for audio, you can use your line out port from your laptop and audio in from your TV.
