One of my kids is out of state with this laptop i gave her.
Having issues and suggested she check the internal battery.
Checked the date and time and wrong. She can't find it.
Downloaded the manual from Toshiba and mentioned something about RTC battery. No pictures though on where its at. Anybody familiar with it. She said no battery inside. ive queried everyplace i can find. Does not say what kind or where its at.
thanks

Hi, look for a video on Youtube by searching the same as your querry here. I've found some tutorial vids there before. Good luck

FWIW, here is a disassembly guide for the M65 series laptops:

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba_Satellite_M65/take_apart_laptop_1.htm

Not sure exactly where the battery in question is located, but it's a pretty safe bet that major disassembly would be required to access it.

EDIT: In this photo, I have circled in yellow what MIGHT be the battery you are looking for. But I could be wrong, as the resolution of the photo isn't good enough to be sure. From my limited experience, they are usually one of those "button" or "coin" cells.

Do you mean the CMOS battery? I would personally speak to Toshiba, taking laptops apart are tricky sometimes.

I am assuming he means the CMOS battery, too. I would imagine that taking laptops apart can be tricky sometimes. All I know is that I had never disassembled one myself, but found the guide for MY model at irisvista, and it was very complete. Even showed the location of every screw and cable to be removed circled in red. The guide made it almost idiot proof.

I talked to her. She called about the rtc battery. Yes it is a cmos battery. They did not help at all. Did not have any idea what she was talking about. She did not find a cmos battery. Oh well. they are giving it to me. they gave up.
thanks
