Laptop Video Card Problem.

I have an i5 Core Laptop, with 4gigs of ram and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Video Card. Yet for some reason I cant play Hitman Blood Money or the sims 3 without major lag. The thing is, when I frst got the laptop I could play the Sims 3 without any issues at all.

I think somehow I might have disabled my video cards capabilities or something accidently.

So I ran www.systemrequirementslab.com "can you run it" for Blood money, and it says my video card fails due to having no 3D capabilities, and no Hardware T&L? everything else passes with flying colors.

Any ideas? thanks

i tried disabling the HD Intel Graphics earlier and ran the test, but then it said I didnt even have a video card. All the stats like pixel shader etc, were 0.0

disabling the HD Intel Graphics and restarting just made my computer look like it went back to windows 98 mode. So I had to reenable it.

there should be an option in CCC to switch to Dedicated graphics. Disabling the onboard will only end in a "recovery mode" startup with the basic Microsoft drivers.

I dont know about CCC, but in NCP there is an option of which is the default, and you can set it by program. I have mine set to run GT540m on games and rendering programs and the intel HD on movies and pretty much everything else.

sorry what does CCC stand for? and is there a way to use integrated graphics for everything, then dedicated graphics for gaming? cause Im assuming it would be easier on the computer to use integrated graphics for everyday use.

CCC is Catalyst Control Center. If you right click on the desktop there should be an option for it.

Im not sure how ATI goes about the multi graphics, but I know in NCP (Nvidia control panel), there is a setting as to which is default, and you can assign which GPU you want to use with a specific program.
