Laptop will NOT power up

Hello,
Have a Gateway Model # M6930(6 yrs old). Haven't used it that often the past few years. It finally would not power up no matter how long being charged, so I figured it needed a new battery and bought a new replacement per system requirements. At first the new battery allowed it to power up right away as soon I plugged it in, and charged fine. BUT....after a week of not being charged Im back at point A! It will NOT power up again with new battery!
Any thoughts?

So it will not power up with charger connected? Seems you have an electrical/charging issue inside the laptop. Would need to take it in and have it diagnosed. Most likely a bad motherboard.
 
Nothing you can do about it besides taking it in to have it diagnosed, most likely better off to buy a new one.
