Laptop wireless intermittent

Need help before taking my laptop in.

The wireless on my Toshiba laptop works intermittently. I am convinced that it is my computer and the router or the signal. I know because my wife's laptop never drops the connection.

My wireless connection may last for 10 seconds to 10 minutes, then it drops to either limited connectivity or no connectivity. My work-around is to disconnect from my service, then reconnect. I always reconnect just fine, but it only lasts as stated above: 10 seconds to 10 minutes.

I don't know if this is a hardware issue or software issue. I have Vista loaded.

Any thoughts?

How far away from the modem or router are you?

Does this happen even when you're close?

if you are near your router and still getting limited connectivity, hmmmm! you might be getting your neighbors signal.

It doesn't matter how close I am; the connection drops as stated.
