I have a gateway nv500 series laptop. A while ago, the screen went completely white. I took the laptop apart to check the screen connector, and it was damaged and will need replacing. I can use an external screen for now. The damaged wire is left loose and exposed. I originally used duct tape to cover it(bad idea, I know) and it started smelling bad as soon as I turned it on. I cut the ends off of the cord so only the tip of the wires are exposed. Can I safely cover these with electrical tape safely long term?
