Laptop with Sempron

Hello,
PACKARD BELL ENB3529
Laptop with AMD Sempron 3000+ cpu, 512 MB memory, 50 GB HDD and combinated CD burner/DVD player.

My questions are:
The price I've been offered is $470 USD (4750 SEK), is that a good price?
How bad/good is a Semperon CPU? I've hear that the get very hot after a while, is that correct? Would it help and is it possible (simple) to underclock it to maybe 2000+ to reduce the heat?
What about PACKARD BELL, How are their computers?
Overall, what do you think?

You don't have to answer all question, just the ones you can, I'll really appreciate all answers so please, help me.

Not to bad it runs just as good or better then an Intel Celeron 3GHz

New or Used? either way I think it a sweet price.

I've hear that the get very hot after a while, is that correct? Would it help and is it possible (simple) to underclock it to maybe 2000+ to reduce the heat?

I don’t think you need to do that because the stock HSF should be able to cool it just fine. I'm not sure if you can buy aftermarket HSF for laptops but you can buy fans to place the laptops on.

That sounds like a good price, you shouldnt have to worry about the heat. And i've never personally used a packard bell, so i cant tell you how good they are.

yes very.

a lot better than a celeron and would be sufficient for non-gaming usage.

all laptops get unbearably hot whether its a sempron, turion, pentium M, pentium 4...etc. they should call them tabletop.

if the semprons have the powernow feature which i dont remember off the top of my head, then it should underclock on its own. but since its manufactured computer, you might not have the bios options to mess with any clock speeds but i never had a packard bell laptop so i couldn't tell you.

What about PACKARD BELL, How are their computers?

i had a computer by them like 12 years ago and i thought they went out of business. probably couldn't judge a company by what they did 12 years ago however.

Overall, what do you think?
