Laptop with superb VGA output?

Hello ComputerForum,

I recently have bought two different laptops (a Lenovo X60s and a Sony Vaio vgn-z21mn), however, have found that both laptops' VGA output is of a less than pristine quality. Having a good VGA output is important to me as I only use the laptop's own screen when not at home - and I do graphics so I do need it to be of visually very good quality.

Any of you know which laptops have splendid VGA outputs? It must be a 13.1 or 13.3" screen and minimum 1600*900 px resolution.

Well the lenovo not sure but the sony vaio has hdmi, that would be superb qaulity.

VGA is VGA, what is you current resolution?

what is your tvs resolution?

I'm using an external screen with 1280*1024 px resolution for the time being but hope to have a screen with a minimum of 1920 * 1050 px. I don't have a TV. And although the sony vaio has an HDMI I'll be needing the VGA output for some time.

can you not change the resolution on the computer (say OS if you not sure how to change that)
just to correct you the 1920 is time by 1080, not 1050.
and also is there any point in not using the HDMI cable. i mean a reason?
and its not the laptops its the cable you are using or the TV that you have. is it LCD or ... There are two different type of cables for VGA there is the crap one, and there is the one which does great quality (i.e. for screens larger than 19"). does your VGA cable have blue ends, D, i am asking is that every VGA with blue ends i have seen works great. and others do not.
