Hi,

Have got a Philips freevents H12Y Laptop which wont connect to the network.

It gets the default 169 address through both the wireless and wired connections. Ive tried on a different router, tried resetting, reinstalling and the general stuff before ive come stuck and turned here for help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Luke

Make sure that its getting an ip address automatically in the tcp/ip settings. You don't have it set to a static ip do you?

are you sure that the router is connected to the net, as it sounds like the laptop is being designated an ip from the router, can you access the routers homepage? if so check the statistics of the router to see if it is connected to the internet

it doesnt get a connection to the router....it just gets given the default 169 ip address which is windows just saying it cant connect.

Ive tried 2 different routers and both wireless and wired connection gets the same.

Thats interesting but ive tried it with 2 completely different routers and completely different setups and different computers........
