Laptop won't turn on.

Ok so I have this 2-3 year old toshiba laptop that was working just fine. (Not primary pc just like a secundary). It ws working 2 days ago but now it wont turn on. Battery has failed last month but It still worked now it will just turn on the battery charging led when i press click to turn it on, but just for like 5 seconds. I don't mind about laptop just the content of harddrive. What could it be? power adaptor maybe?

So you have a bad battery and its disconnected from the laptop? Check to see if you have a loose power jack connection. If not, suspect a bad power adapter.
