Hard to say. Vista isnt out yet so who knows yet. I would guess you would need about 1.5GB or greater and a amd athlon FX 3200+ to run it decently. ANd probably a 9800PRO/5700 to use it.
sorry... thats pretty stupid.
you'll need 512mb of ram, 1gb would be nice...
hmm, thats funny never heard of an athlon FX 3200+

9800pro will not be necessary, in fact integrated will do fine...
by the current trend windows vista is using about 4 times the amount of memory as windows XP (maybe even only 2)
now, with that said the maximum video memory windows vista would use would be 32mb... 128mb plus, it can use system memory instead.
also, there will be a 32-bit vista available... so you can have whatever processor you'd like.
check this out, its about vista memory usage:

basically they say it uses about 400mb of actual RAM
the specs i'd recommend are as follows:
any proc will do.. (preferably 64-bit, a sempron or turion would do)
1gb ram
5400rpm hard drive preferably 7200 (vista might take 4 times as long to boot as windows XP) preferably 60gb or higher if youd like any room for other stuff lol
seems like any graphics will do...
so basically faster HDD and more ram will be the best thing for it.
Do you need a special CPU or would the laptop in my sig work fine?
i'd say it should work just fine...
nobody knows the exact specs on vista yet though...
i doubt you'll need any sort of powerful graphics card for it though haha

that says that basically windows vista uses around 400mb of RAM to start...
it also says that there will be optional services that you can shut off, so you dont eat up so much memory.
another thing is that vista will put itself in the paging file (hard drive) in order to run other applications if needed.
basically 1gb should be more than enough.
