Laptops Galore!

Too many out there, which one to choose?
I live in Edmonton, Alberta
My budget is 800 at most.. but would prefer to go less than that.
I've read the forums a bit and have came to the conclusion that toshiba, asus and sony don't break down as much.

so, let me have it! :)
 
Any specific use for this laptop? Are you planning to game with it? Do you want to buy it in a store or can you order it online?
 
It will be mainly for school. But, I will probably play the odd game and watch movies on it. Not really sure as to where I would buy it... if it's a good enough deal I would be up for buying online.

Edit: I noticed prices in the states are better.. do places in the states usually ship to canada?

both of those should get decent battery life, due to the Intel HD chipset, but will probably be not useful for any modernish games, would look at something in the ati family if you want somewhat acceptable battery life and performance
 
He said he would be playing odd games so nothing modernish probably is not a concern. What are you going to school for? Do you have a OS preference? Linux? OSX? windows?
 
School will just be writing notes and what not.. will probably put photoshop on it to play around with on occasion.. aaaaand, I would prefer windows over anything. would actually prefer it came with xp :P
