Ok I know Ive been posting alot and probally annoying everyone, but got noone else that knows what everone here knows:o

So Im getting my computer parts in tommorow and now its down to putting it all togeather. Ive bought "DYNEX" "silver thermal compound" any good for the heat? I know somwhat of all the basics, Where power supply goes, ram, video card, some of the HDD wires but not to sure on that and my heatsink fan i know how to install it but dont know much more about it. Is it just plugging it and and it will work or do i got to go through bois.
So what im more worrying about is all the Bios and installing windows. Im sure windows xp will have a walk through or somthing. Buut is there anything i should do in bios or in start up from the start?

sorry i dont know to much about this but atleast im trying to learn :D

thanks

Don't worry about posting 'too much'. Questions are meant to be asked :)

Any thermal compound will be good, but some will completely blow others out of the water. Arctic Silver 5 is excellent at conducting heat and keeping temps nice and cool. If the Dynex is silver compound though (meaning contains actual silver, not just some marketing name gimmick), it should have similar properties and be a tad bit better than a non-silver compound.

As far as where everything goes, a lot of it will only fit one specific way in one specific slot, so no worries there. You will see a designated area (by means of a bracket or holder) for your PSU. HDDs will have special slots, wires are self-explanatory, etc.

What kind of CPU did you get? All heatsinks install basically the same way, but there are a few slight differences depending on CPU-socket type.

I got a dualcore 2.0 ghz, yeah i know most of the basics was just more worrying about the OS and startup, and sticky links that walk you through it here?
