Gaming computer meant to last awhile. I will be buying the parts within 2 weeks now and wanted some more feedback and suggestions. I am looking for a relatively easy build and plan to do some overclocking but that is not my goal. Please be detailed and let me know your opinion it will be valued. Thanks in advance for the feedback. My budget is just under 2000.00
Also, let me know if I forgot anything. This is an entire setup. I'm pretty sure I included everything. I come in just under my price now on newegg. I am partial to money as well so if you see any wany to maintain the awesomeness of my rig wilst saving dough, it would be appreciated, but not a priority.

The two are nowhere close to comparable. Of course you like that one, it is waaaaay better.

Actually the gt might come close to that ati. Though the nvidia would win by a margin but probably not big because of 2 cards of course. If it were me I would go with the ati.

I would just get a 7900GT or 7900GTX they can still run all the games on max settings with playable frame rates and are alot cheaper and directX10 will be coming out in a 4 or so months. And i would downgrade to a E6300 or E6400 cause the extra cache in the E6600 does not have much of a performance increase and the E6300 and E6400 both overclock very well.

I certainly wouldn't be downgrading the CPU in a $2k system.

In terms of video i'd prefer an X1900XTX. Overall a better card, at a similar price to the 7950GT.

The x1900xtx is $460, and the 7950gt is $300.

edit: Wait never mind, I was referring to the X1950XTX, which firsttimebuilder had referred to

I'll consider the 1900xtx, although I do want to stay within budget, only because the new cards will be coming out soon and I don't want to break the bank. Who am I kiding anyways, I won't but one when they first come out, they'll be too damn expensive. :-P

Only reason why I'm spending so much is so I can finally purchase a system worth upgrading, considering my current rig.

Also I may switch to this motherboard so I have the option for sli later on.

Main advantage of X1900XTX is HDR + FSAA at the same time. Full eye candy. If you don't really care, then save some coin and pass till DX10 time comes. Now is a really tricky time to be building a system. DX10 is on the horizon, Vista is on the horizon, Kentsfield/Clovertown & K8L are on the horizon. But its very good that so much new technology and inovation will be coming right around the bend. :)

That said, I have 3 questions. 1, why are you going to get a Audigy 4 if you are going to run 2.1 speakers? 2, Why are you going to run 2.1 Speakers? Are you going to get some high quality headphones for gaming? 3, Why only XP Home? Are you going to be buying Vista when it releases?

Just curious on your plans there. :)

I would like to get vista, I wanted a soundcard that would support better quality speakers in the future but is not a priority as of now.

Heard any bad things about the beta version of vista, I am considering installing it.
