Loose there color? I don't see that happening... I do hear that they gradually become more dull over the years, but that's natural.
Really just basic stuff... If you're not using it, switch it off. To clean it, don't spray anything directly on it. Now some people say don't use Windex or anything that abrasive on it, but that's what I use on mine. Hehe, all my LCDs still seem to be fine...
