LCD comparison

I am looking at two LCDs from Newegg.

Viewsonic Q22wb $239.
900/1 contrast ratio, 5ms responce time, 1680x1050

Acer AL 2223w $240.
800/1 contrast ratio, 5ms

The specs and price are similar. Does Viewsonic or Acer have a better reputation on their LCDs?

I find Acers to be a pretty stand-up LCD. I bought 2 19" widescreens a few months ago, neither had a single dead or lazy pixel, and both are performing well. I work in a computer store that sells Acers and we have very few come back with issues (many more LG's, HP's and Samsungs).

I do not have any experience (real or anecdotal) to share about Viewsonic.
 
everything ive read says that both are great LCDs, so i guess its just whichever you like the look of better. i really dont think you would notice the different in contrast ratio at all
 
Let me add one more to the mix.

Samsung 216 BW 22", 5ms, 1000/1 contrast ratio. $259.

Any comments on Samsung LCDs?
 
i have always owned samsungs, but i have read that the new 22" has three models. you can tell the different by the serial number, i think there are three possible letters it can end with. one of the letters (A i believe) is excellent, but the other two supposedly have big problems. i think there is discussion in the newegg customer reviews about it, otherwise just google it. its a great looking monitor tho, and i love samsung
