i wouldnt worry about the speed because if you go below 12 ui doubt you will notice the difference. LCD's are much nicer to look at and have a larger viewing area LCD all the way

as i sayd. CRT's only need a few micro seconds ( 1 micro secone is .01 ms ;) )
and LCD's dont have a refresh rate. it doesnt need to "redraw" the picture all the time. a LCD, ony changes the pixels it needs to.
and, a LCD can draw white propperly, it only cant do black :)

They don't do they? Then silly me must be going crazy, as I see 60Hz on my laptop's LCD as we speak.

Regardless of WHAT pixels get "changed", they are being "changed" at a rate of 60Hz.

ghosting at 4MS? what make/model LCD was this?

What they don't tell you is what refresh speed that rating is for. It could be 4mbs for black/white only. The color could have a refresh rate of 16ms.

yes,.. but thats the output of the video card.. not the LCD itself..
the refresh rate of a monitor is the time it needs to redraw the picture.
since a LCD doesnt change the whole screen at once, (like a CRT.)
its not the monitors refresh rate. i think you got my point. ;)
