LCD Projector Problem

I have been using a Epson power lite S1 for about a year. Last Night I turned it on and it displayed a white screen. It will not let me go into any of the menus or anything. Is it the Firmware?
 
Yeah, it's probably some hardware/firmware problem. Is there a way to upgrade it's firmware? I know many have USB ports. Maybe connect it to your computer and see if it's even registered on the machine. If there is firmware available, maybe try and upgrade it.
 
Sadly, it does not have a USB Port on it. I called a Repair shop and they said it would cost $300:mad: I think I will look into buying a new projector.
