LCD response time vs contrast

Which do you think is more important when playing a game on a LCD...response time or contrast? I'm looking for a new monitor, one thats 2ms and 700:1 and another thats 8ms and 1300:1. Which do you think would be better for gaming or just overall quality? Thanks.

Response time to a certain extent... i would get the second monitor in this case, even though my 700:1 is just fine for me.

So pretty much under 8ms I'm not going to be able to tell the difference? After all...I guess 6ms is a pretty small difference.

I'd definetly look at response time over anything else for gamming. I know my monitor's specs are pretty sorry in regards to brightness and contrast ratios, but I still have no complaints about it. Basically the contrast ratio would help with really dark colors, but I've never NOT been able to see something on mine that I should. I beleive my contrast ratio is about 300:1...

No way. Contrast over response time ANY day of the week. There is no real visible difference between 8ms and 2ms, but there is a huge ass difference between 1200:1 and 700:1. I am using a 2000:1 5ms right now and it simply blew away my 800:1 19".

Look into the monitor I have. It's a good price and you'll love it. It has received excellent reviews as well.
