I use a samsungy syncmaster 191t with a intel 845G MB that have a 64mb onbroad video card. Recently i discover the screen begin to flickering and appear to be flicker both horizontally and vertically but the flickering itself is not very serious although sometime it appear more frequent than other time. After tried to adjust the graphic property by choose different resoultion and refresh rate, the flickering still there, so i tried the screen on another computer and the screen work fine so maybe it is the video card has problem? thanks for any help.

Besides the limitations seen with the onboard video you may want to grab the latest and last driver updates available for that chipset since Intel is dropping all support for it. http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel845g/

The higher resolutions seen on the Samsung lcd monitor there are apparently now seeing the problems due to the limited support the onboard offers. Picking a good 128mb or even 256mb video card would correct this problem.

I realize this is an old thread, but it solved my problem. I just purchased a Samsung Syncmaster monitor and it's been flickering since I got it. I called Samsung and they told me to return it to where I bought it. I called the online retailer and they were going to email me an RMA #. I did a little searching here and I found advice about increasing the refresh rate. However, my video card had no other options besides the 60. Then I found this thread. I went and downloaded a newer drive and then saw I could up my refresh rate. I did that and lo and behold, my problem was solved.

Thanks to all the good people who are so helpful.
