LCD tv and monitor?

I'm not much of a tech person at all, but this TV seems to be a pretty good deal for what I want, but I want to make sure it is, in fact, actually what I want.

I want a TV that could double as a TV and a monitor. I know this has a VGA input, so I'm pretty sure it should work as a monitor and it says it is a TV, so it should be able to play cable. Correct?

The only other problem is that I'm buying a home theater audio system and I just want to make sure that I'll be able to plug that into the TV. It has audio and headphone ports. So, I assume it should be able to do that. But I just want to make sure.
 
But the other TV has deeper blacks. Plus I just wanted to know weather the TV could, in fact, be used as a TV. Since I didn't see a cable input on any of the screens and in the Specs I didn't see it say it had input anywhere. Maybe it is there and I don't see it or maybe it is assumed. I just want to know if anyone knows for sure.
