LCD TV Loses signal with PC Intermittently

Hello, and Greetings to the Computer Forum:)

I would appreciate any advice/help into a problem that I have had for months.

I have connected my PC to my 32" Sony Bravia KDL-32v400 LCD TV through HDMI to HDMI connection with my HD Radeon 4200 integrated graphics card. My motherboard is the Asus M4A785-M.

I have the newest graphics drivers installed and my resolution is set to 1360x768 as this is what my TV accepts. This is also identical to settings within my graphics card via AMD Catalyst.

Every 5 or so minutes my LCD screen loses its signal with my PC. I then have to refresh inputs to get the picture back?? To do this I select HDMI 2, then HDMI 1 (the correct input), and the picture comes back for a further 5-10 mins.

This is extremely annoying, especially when watching films. I have tried different HDMI ports, experimented with different resolutions, but no luck! Also tried many settings within the Catalyst graphics driver but nothing resolves anything!

I have noticed recently that when a light switch is flicked on in the house, the problem as described is triggered. So it may be electrical/static interference? Is there a way of eliminating this?

I am no electrician but would earthing my PC tower help? If so, how would i do this?

The problem however could be anything.

if you are using a long length cheap cable this could be the cause of problem.

Try a better quality HDMI cable......
 
It is a 1 Metre Cable.

I may try a Dvi to HDMI cable firstly.

Just a curious question, but how is your airflow inside the case? It could very well be a heat related issue with the video card. HDMI cables are typically an all, or nothing type deal and don't really suffer from intermittent issues, due to interference, that an analog cable would be susceptible to. Another thought I would check out would be the refresh rate on the card. A high refresh rate could cause issues with the TV. See what the native refresh rate is for the TV and see if it matches what's set in the card's settings.
