Learning To OC

I have a MSI R270x gpu and i know its oced out the box, is there any potential to oc it a bit more and be stable?

I have been lurking around the net and found a base on how to start ocing. From what i read i start out adjusting the memory clock. Thread said keep adjusting until the screen locks up or it starts glitching then dial it back a bit and check temps. I had my card up too 1475 on memory clock and ran FurMark on a 15 minute run. Temps never went over 78C. After that i left it alone and tried running BF4, it ran fine for a bit but my gpu crashed so i had to do a hard reset on the system. Basically is there any more room for adjustment on stock cooling? I saw where any temps that were below 80 degrees celsius was safe. Am i wrong?

the can have allot more temp, but its best to stay below 80.
I always start bumping the core clock, after that the memory.
then test it longer then 15 minutes.
and don't forget benchmark stable doesn't mean its game stable.
let furmark run 1 hour

I had my card configured too power limit was +5 core clock was still 1200 and memory was 1475, fans were 100 % and the card still crashed. Temps were under 80 C. Any idea what happened? My sound is still working but the video freaks out.
