Whenever we double left click on any "yellow folder", we expect the usual outcome; which is, the open of the particular folder. But not anymore.
My friend and I are now puzzling, why nowadays, it open up the search page.
We had already run through all menu and folder option but to no avail.
The only way to open the folder now is using right click to lower the menu and click open. We can't remember any changes that we had made recently.
Hi there, pls help. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried another mouse? Doesn't it work now?

Have you checked the mouse configurations in Control panel > Mouse

it is a known problem, the solution is to do the following

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Navigate to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
and select the "Default" value
3. Click Modify on the Edit menu.
4. Type none in the Value data box, and then click OK.
5. Quit Registry Editor.
may need to restart

without question the reg fix is the solutions. It can occur when you install something which changes the folder actions sorry to be vague but the causes are plentiful but not normally indicative of malware/viruses

it's done

sorry for this late report. the fix was done swiftly and once again, thank you guys. i hope those have the same problem can just follow.
