This is a question about IDE drives, which is a bit before I started getting in to tech.
I have a bunch of IDE drives, mainly from Maxtor, lying in a basement. Then I remembered that IDE cables usually have room for two HDDs per cable. Then I googled about RAID'ing on the same cable, and finally realized what the difference between SATA and PATA was - also what the hell a Slave and Master really meant. Which leads me to my question.
Can I have software and OS on drive A, while having information being read by said software on drive B?
The purpose of this would be a SeedBox-ish setup. Windows 7 + Torrent client on drive A and source files/upload files on drive B.
It would be on 24/7 and remotely controlled.
I could save a few hundred $$$ by digging up and using these old IDE drives.
Thanks in advance
