I'm not a review person, so I'll keep it short. This monitor is replacing a 22" Acer. The difference is night and day. It totally kills the Acer, hands down. Brightness, colors, speed, contrast, everything. This picture is actually believable. The Acer was anything but. It's fine for general use, but not what I'm after. Thus, the Acer is going to the office.

I can back you up, its a fantastic monitor :)

Got mine on sale at Best Buy for $280, $300 after tax. Great deal ;)

I have heard and experienced Acer's input lag on their 22" and 24" monitors, its not fun playing a first person shooter game on those. You need spilt second responsiveness and will not get it with the Acer. Samsung 245B is still the best though, despite its price :D so I should say leaving price out of the equation Samsung is the best.

Actually, I was looking at the Samsung and LG 24" and 22" screens. I was also briefly pondering a 27" Samsung.

The picture on the Samsung wasn't bad, but the LG smoked it all around. Especially on Red backgrounds. The red on the Samsungs was all washed out, and the backlight was bleeding through. Full screen video actually ghosted on the Samsungs, but not the LGs. They really were overall crappy. I wasn't impressed at all. They offered me a stellar deal on the 24" LG, but the specs weren't that great, the pic was ok, but the native resolution was really high. I was concerned that my cards wouldn't drive it very well in games. In the end I bought this one and I'm insanely happy with it, especially after using the Acer. I put my 19" LG wide on as the secondary monitor and took the Acer off of there too. Stellar. Fabulous. The difference between night and day. It doesn't take 4 seconds for the monitors to kick on, like it did with the Acers (I have them hooked up DVI, as I did the Acers). Definitely a big improvement. Love them, love them, love them. :)
