I never installed a cpu before on this socket type, Im pretty confident that I am installing the processer correctly but when I bring the hinge down after I allign the processer, I feel like Im crushing the processor. This happen to anyone else or should I be worried

Thanks

Matt

Ya it feels like that to me to, just make sure it's aligned the right way, because theres only one proper way for it to work.

Your are right, it does take quite a bit of pressure. Just make sure that your finger doesn't slip off of the lever.

When I installed my processor, I thought for sure that I destroyed it.

Fired up the computer and all is fine.

It almost seemed that it was putting uneven pressure on the chip, when engaging the lever.

in about a week or so i'll get my lga775 pentium d so i dont no much about it. the only socket ive ever worked on was the old amd K6 socket 1
