Hi,

Right I would appreciate some help here, I have some spare components lying around and would like to put them together to make a working system to sell on rather than trying to sell them all separately.

here is what I have so far.

Core 2 Duo e6300 with an Akasa cooler)
1gb GiEl pc2 6400 800mhz (2x 512mb sticks)
Asus 8800GT 512mb TOP
120 Seagate Barracuda IDE hard drive
460W Gigabyte Superb Power supply
Sata DVD-RW
Brand New slim line pc case
Windows Xp SP2

Others:19" Widescreen LCD monitor,Keyboard, mouse,Logitech speakers etc.

As you can see im missing a motherboard.

Now my options are:

1)Buy a new motherboard better than the P35 NEO i have in my main rig now and use p35 neo in this system i want to build.

OR

2)Get the cheapest skt lga 775 motherboard i can and put that in the rig want to sell and leave my main rigs motherboard alone.

I don't really want to spend more than £45.

what out of those options do you recommend doing?
Also what motherboard from either Ebuyer or Overclockers should i go for depending on what option you think is best?

thanks guys :)

just go for the cheapest mobo around. most people don't give a crap about the mobo. As long as it performs they're happy. One of the old nvidia 6xx chipsets will do fine with that setup. And if you're at it, i'd buy an extra 1gb stick of ram. Will increase the value and performance of the pc ALOT. And it doesn't cost that much.

hmm what about this motherboard? to replace my p35

Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L Socket LGA775 Motherboard

I would like a Gigabyte motherboard this time..they make good boards.

Its either i spend a bit more...like £45-50 on a new mobo for my rig in sig with a P41 chipset...or just buy an el cheapo skt lga 775 p31 chipset for that build im planning.

would rather upgrade my motherboard in my main rig.

Daisy thanks for the memory link.

I would definitely look into a crossfire capable motherboard, as when that 4890 you have gets "slow" for games just get another, so you can upgrade your current board then use your P35 in your other "build".

if i was you i would buy a cheap motherboard for your other build then sell it, use that money to get a decent motherboard for your pc!

you should have bought that asus rampage that was up for sale on here, i think just a noob was selling it

or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-118-GI&groupid=595&catid=689&subcat=

That mobo looks good,
im actualy thinking of getting rid of my 800mhz ram too,and buying 1066 with better timings.

then using my old motherboard and 5gb 800mhz in this build i want to sell....i think it would actualy sell better this time of the year.

xmas isnt that far away when you think about it :)

meh...not realy into dual cards, there realy isnt any need...would my psu even be up to dual cards?

id prefer to stick with one single high end gpu.

when my 4890 can not handle games how i want...then il upgrade. :)
