Lid Open/Close options?

I'm running a Advent 7211 with Vista Home Premium. I had it set up so whenever I closed the lid, it went to Sleep, and woke up when I opened it again. But recently the sensor that decides whether the lid is open or not has become really sensitive, and it's hard to pick up my laptop without it turning on again.

Is there any way to change it so that my laptop doesn't do anything when I open the lid? I can stop it doing stuff when I close it, but if I manually put the laptop to sleep before shutting the lid, it still turns on when I open it.

Thanks :)

Hi,
Since this is a Vista system, please follow the following instructions :
  • Click on Start and type Control Panel.
  • Open Control Panel and open up Power Options.
  • In Power Options, on the left pane, you can see an option saying,
"Choose what closing the lid does".
  • In the third option, you can change the settings accordingly.

Hope this works out for you :D

Yeah, I tried that, but it still turns back on then I open the lid. Which I don't want, 'cause I often thinks I'm opening the lid when I'm not, lol.

In this case, I'd advice you to take your laptop to a technician. It seems to be having extremely sensitive lid sensors.
