as long as you don't over abuse it.

Thats not what i said. I said limewire was legal, but downloading coprighted material is illegal. If you use it once or a ton, its still illegal to download copyright stuff.

This is probably one of those things we just shouldn't talk about. I mean yes, the software itself is legal, but 99% of the downloads are illegal...

I think everyone should just get off the fact of always thinking that since "someone" is using a P2P program or TORRENT program, then they are using it "illegally"

But to answer the question... what version of limewire do you have? the latest one or an older one? Either way, you can try upgrading or downgrading depending on which one you have to see if it solved the problem.

Also, next time... you can try uninstalling it again, then run a registry cleaner to clean out the limewire invalid reg entries and reinstall it again. You can find free ones at www.download.com

I'm siding with computerhakk on the legalities and ditto copying dvds where people don't seem to be able to separate the stuff you can read in the Nero manual from breaking copyright and copyright protection.

I installed LimeWire just to be able to answer questions on it. I would not use it myself because of the high percentage of infected files. That leads me to my first point, have you checked your pc for malware in case you downloaded something nasty? I would clear any recent downloads or part-downloads from the folder you use.

Are you sure it really is not there eg is it on the taskbar or system tray but no display? Have you tried Alt+Tab to check open windows?

Yes im sure.Thats why i checked task managment.

Task Manager only tells you the app is running. It does not tell you if the
window is hidden etc (eg minimized to the tray and you did not check the tray).

Added later: To give another example, once I had PowerDesk running, showing on the taskbar but no window. The problem was that somehow the restore down size was zero so nothing showed.
