Limewire help

Limewire ALWAYS uses 100% of my cpu...I have to go to task Manager and Set Affinity to only one CPU (hyperthreading not dual core) box and it then uses 50% CPU. Why does it do this? Please help me it has done this since i first built my PC in january...(got the parts for Christmas)
 
I got rud of it shortly after giving it a brief tryout due to the open ended load it would place on the dsl line here. Any download commits the cpu time to it. These types of downloaders like bit torrents tend to see this.
 
When run here it only bogged online use with slow logons and page changes while on a site due to the reduced bandwidth. It threw the cpu usage up high as well. Of course one other thing to note is any download coming from a slow server. That will grab extra cpu attention at times.
