lines on desktop

aah, always problems!!! :)

after having cleaned out my harddrive due to viruses I have started having problems when in windows. when i close windows there remains horizontal lines as if a shadow of the closed window. the strange thing is that it shifts how many lines there are. sometimes there are almost none anbd sometimes there are alot. I have tried getting new drivers for my videocard but that didn't help.

what could be the problem? would be very grateful for a way to fix it. it is very annoying, although it doesn't seem to effect the perfomance of the computer except that my graphics card shuts down when I play new games like GTA SA. don't know if it is related? :confused:

I,ve got a msi k8t neo with a athlon 64 3000 and a radeon 9600
 
you may be trying to run your video card at too high pixels, it may not be able to handle them very well.

and this should have been put in video cards and monitors
