Linking a HDD partition to a chosen USB port to use it as an ext. hdd?

Hello,
I am wondering if it's possible to link a partition of my hard disk to an USB-Port. So when I connect my DVD-Player and the computer via an USB-link cable, the dvd player will recognize it as an usual external hard disk.
it would be pretty interesting..

so is there a way to do that?
