Linking CPU's

Is it possible to link the CPU of one comp to the CPU of another so that the one computers CPU helps the other comp with its processing tasks?

Not sure,

you can get multi processor boards. Or you could buy one of the new dual core processors Pentium D (or extreme edition), or Athlon 64 X2 (which i think come out end of may).

Or get one of those wierd ass PF88 boards that let you add amd and pentium together.

Maybe someone else could come up with a better suggestion

Yes, it's possible, it's called parallel processing but I'm not to sure on the mechanics of how it works (Prae would know off the bat) and I'm not sure if it's in the CPU 101 section, you should check it out anyway though for your question in your other thread.

Yes.

http://www.beowulf.org it talks about cluster comps and something about linking comps together to help each other with tasks, but it is for *nix I want for windows.
Linking computers and linking CPUs are slightly different. Under windows you have SMP (well other options if you go the Itanium route). Some links to look at

Perhaps, the Operating System and the
software must admit dual processors...
Naturally thats a basic requirement (other than hardware support)
