Linksys range extender...dead?

For less than a year, this product worked wonders. It allowed me to have fast, reliable Internet, even in the basement room (which is on the opposite end of the house from the router).

However, recently, the lights don't seem to be on (used to have two blue lights on...now, they're both off, or sometimes, just the top "Link" light is on, not the lower "Activity" one). Also, my desktop is having trouble keeping a connection, so I'm thinking the range extender just died on me.

I rarely, if ever, have things die on me...so I'm wondering if there's another explanation. Maybe it needs a firmware update or something, I dunno...but is it safe to say that this thing is pretty much dead? After less than a year? That damn thing cost me $100...

Sounds pretty dead to me, you might try a different power brick of the same voltage and such just to make sure it's the device it's self rather than the power brick. Is it possible it was surged or something?

if it was less than a year i would consider visiting the site possibly for warranty. that might work. if you have the receipt and registered.

There's probably no chance I have the receipt. Oh well...I'm surprised because Linksys has always been a good brand to me.

follow up anyway. my guess is they know what store got it and who bought it.
email or call linksys.
good luck.

Have you tried to reset it. (I dont know if these have it but most linksys's have a resut button, try holding it down and then reconfiguring it)

If that does not work, It would be worth calling them up, their support is very friendly
