I am new to the forum because I could use some help, I switched my laptop from an UNsecured wireless to a secured wireless. now I can not remember the network security code and am therefore locked out, could anyone help me? please remember I am not very computer savy, this is the linksys model WRT54G-v6 Thanks msn

On the back of the router there should be a small button that you'll likely need something small like a paper clip to push. Hold it down until you see all the lights on the front blink at once and then let go and let the router reset itself. It will reset it to the state it was when it was brand new, with no password setup.

I believe on all Linksys Routers the default user name is blank, the password is admin.

For the Wireless code, I write all the user settings on a business card and tape them to the router. That way, in two months when some one visits, and you need to know the code, all you have to remember is to go look at the router.

If you can access the routers login page, it will show you what the key is under wireless security section.
