Linux and windows drivers

If I'm building a pc with linux only, can I just install the regular motherboard drivers from the cd that comes with it, or do I have to look for some special linux drivers online?

It is likely that your motherboard will be recognized without drivers. Graphics is a different story. What distribution are you using?

Edit: Assuming that you are using one of the *buntu or Linux Mint distributions you just need to install nvidia-common in Synaptic package manager and then enable the driver in additional drivers. Installing the nVidia drivers from the website is tough for me. NyxCharon would be the guy to ask about that.
