Hey guys! im back with another dumb question

Im downloading ubuntu 64 bit from there website right now, but it downloads under platform:amd64, might be a dumb question but linux doesnt need different versions depending on what processor your running...right?

AMD64 is just 64-bit. It's from when AMD used to be the only producer of 64 bit CPU's although Intel's are compatiable.
