i have one laptop running linux mint 15 and another running windows 7 ultimate sp1..so what i want to do is to transfer some large files between the two using an ethernet cable. i am able to do this with both machines running windows OS...thank u in advance
There are a variety of protocols you could use. It would be easiest to connect each PC into your router where they will be provided DHCP onto the same subnet.
Usually you could just set up a Samba share on Mint and it will show up as a Windows shared folder if you navigate to it on the Windows PC (something like \\IPaddress).
thank you beers, i checked out the link and it has some useful information indeed, of course i currently havent purchased a router yet so connecting PC to PC is my only option for now...i will update soon
