Hi, I am new here and to computers in general. I am a raised windows user, but it's so expensive, and now that i know that i can run linux from usb without installing, I would like to try it.

I can't pick between the various Linux's, but I am leaning towards ubuntu. Does anyone know a good linux to use window software(i.e.. game) on with WINE, or something else? Thank you in advance???

thank you, am i am building a new computer, and i can't afford a new copy of windows, so i new i would need linux. also, does wine support everything that is windows compatible

Unfortunately, no. Wine works with some stuff, but not everything. Check the AppDB to see what works and what doesn't.

Ubuntu is alot harder to get running properly on a usb flash drive but should be worth it. Some that are alot easier are slax, knoppix, and gOS. I have tried all of these today and work fairly good and are easy as pie to get running off a usb flash drive. I used a 2gb transcend flash drive that I got for $10.
