Linux Windows network

I'm a complete noob with this stuff, Question; Can I hook up both a Windows and Linux system through a router to receive internet on both?

I should've just googled it in the first place.

Edit: But now that this is up can someone recommend a great, not expensive router? I've heard that linksys and Belkins are good. Cabled, unless theres a wireless that is better, cheaper.
